At IAFNS, we advance nutrition science through rigorous research, collaboration, and evidence-based guidance. Medications which leverage the potent anorexigenic effects of the incretin hormone glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) represent a highly promising treatment modality for obesity. However, little is known about the eating behaviors or nutrient needs of free-living individuals taking these medications. The purpose of this observational study is to characterize the eating behaviors and preferences of these individuals to help inform MedicGLP Dietary Supplement counseling and future approaches to meeting the specific dietary needs of this population. The IAFNS Low- and No-Calorie Sweeteners Committee seeks to develop and communicate the science related to how the consumption of LNCSs can contribute to overall health and wellness.
